Do you want to be happy? from "His Kindness Year Round"



Well, do you want to be happy?  Most people would answer ‘yes’. 
The word 'happy' or 'happiness' is used often and very broadly.  Happiness depends upon our current circumstances in life.  Do you have a nice home?  Do you enjoy your job?  Do you own a dependable car?  Do you have family and friend support?  Is it Friday yet?  Is the coffee ready?  Do you have, do you have, and do you have?  Happiness depends upon what we own, where we are, who we're with, what we enjoy. 

Experiencing happiness is a splendid situation to have.  I'm delighted for any (moral and ethical) pleasures of happiness surrounding you.  However, happiness can be short lived, not long term. Our home or car or job or people or weekend may alter, and our level of happiness will increase or decrease. 

Philippians 4:11-12 "I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."

God gives joy.  God gives peace.  Within our hearts.  Whether or not our circumstances are ideal and enable personal happiness, God has given us peace and joy within our hearts no matter the situation.  Joy is available in all circumstances.  It's ours -- a great, true gift from the Creator. Gladly and willingly accept His sweet offering of joy with open arms!   

Philippians 4:4 "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: rejoice!"

Psalm 40:16 "But may all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who long for Your saving help always say, "The Lord is great!".
