The Promise from "His Kindness Year Round"

Several weeks ago I heard a Christian song I'd never heard before.  Since that day, I often hum or sing one particular line from the chorus:  "There's a Promise coming down that dusty road."

I don't need to recite the entire song or chorus to gain my blessing; that one line is sufficient. There is a Promise coming down the road for me.

Revelation 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."

He's my Promise.  He is working daily in my life, even when I don't see His great works.  The Word is full of promises to us, promises He will fulfill, for He is Truth.

Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Do you ever have occasions in which you don't know if there's a promise for you? No need to doubt, because as followers of the Father, the Promise is coming.

2 Peter 3:9 "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.  Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance."

Are you "standing on the promises of God"?  (Another song for another day . . . )

Your sister in Him, waiting for The Promise,

Do you take time for the Truth? from "His Kindness Year Round"

As the case with most believers, we usually know what we are 'supposed' to do.

Just as we know for our physical bodies, drinking water is healthy for us, and eating that second slice of peach pie perhaps is not. But do we always follow what we are 'supposed' to do?

Although following the obedience of God is what we know to do, sometimes, just as with our bodies and souls, submission may seem a bit more difficult to follow at certain times.

The past several weeks I have heard or read various really good teachings on learning the Bible, God's Word, the Truth.  It is our guidebook from the Father as to Who we are to follow, showing how to completely obey Him. We see the mightiness of God in His Word, and learn the path to salvation and the assurance of living with Him in eternity.

Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered, “It is written:  ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Please take time to do more than read His Word.  Study it, understand it, absorb it, speak it.  As I was reminded from a pastor this weekend, any thought that migrates into our minds which shouldn’t be there, counteract it with the WORD.  Thoughts of fear, confusion, discouragement, worry, obsession, guilt, condemnation, anger, bitterness, etc. – there is always an answer from the Lord to guide us through our thoughts.

Ephesians 6:17 “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

As another minister noted, our Father sincerely wants His children to have peace and rest.  In this world, often that peace and rest in Him is interrupted by chaos and drama and busyness.  Keep the Word close to our hearts to distract the thoughts in our heads.

God is so good, and never leaves or forsakes us!  Isn’t it so special when He brings us a precise message at just the precise time!  His timing is always on time!

Your sister in Him,

Robin

Our Father from "His Kindness Year Round"

Matthew 6:9 "Our Father Who is in Heaven, holy be Your name."

Basically, that says it all.  Holy, honored, hallowed is the name of God.

As school graduation celebrations continue, as we remember to honor fathers today, I trust you have spent time glorifying the Father, the Creator of all, our Almighty God.

Praise and honor the Great I AM.

As quoted above, "You were made to know God." Do you?

Humbly, your sister in Him,

Robin
