Greetings from "His Kindness Year Round"

If someone had told me a month ago that I'd be writing a blog, I would have given you a puzzled look. It has never been my plans, dreams or goals. However, the desire and need to write has been recently placed upon my heart.

I've always enjoyed writing. I love to journal, and I write in my faith journal daily. I know several "bloggers" and have enjoyed reading their blogs. And let's not forget the movie, "Julie and Julia" about Julie, who became a blogger.

I am as surprised to be sitting here writing this as you may be reading. God has placed upon my heart some things to share. Most blogs will be short. Sometimes a simple phrase of inspiration or encouragement, in which I will always credit the author. Sometimes a particular Bible verse. Other posts will be things the Lord has put upon my heart to share. That's what began this entire ball of wax. God has led me to share some thoughts with you that He began to share with me new year's weekend and continuing. Maybe someone in blog world is to read the things I'm learning.

The homepage isn't even finished yet. (Gotta figure out how to get the title up there!) What you see today is a quickly put together site to begin writing. The site and blog won’t be anything extravagant or “professional”, but from the heart. God keeps sharing His thoughts. I know it's time for me to begin sharing them also.

As far as the blog name, "His Kindness Year Round", many may recognize from a face book and email event I "created" on January 12 in memory of my husband’s birthday. It was a day in which I asked everyone to do something extra special for someone else. I appreciate all the kind deeds that were done. Thank you to those who participated and also to those who shared with me.

Kindness Year Round . . . . Think about it for a second: Isn't God’s love bountiful to us year round? Aren’t His blessings available to us year round? He doesn't only show up at Easter or Christmas. He doesn't show up only in the good times or only in the difficult times. He is present all the time. We should show our love, care, kindness and thankfulness to others not only at Thanksgiving or Christmas or Valentine’s Day or birthdays -- but year round. Just as God does.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) “For I know the plans I have for you”, says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Prayerfully, your sister in Him,

Robin

  1. Hi, Robin, Congratulations! I think this blog is wonderful and I wish you much success with it. It certainly is important to be reminded to share kindnesses year round. How often we get caught up in the busy-ness of life and don't take time to give a smile or a hand to those around us. Many blessings to you! Love you, Anne
