Today is from "His Kindness Year Round"

Thanksgiving blessings to all!

We have all heard, or said, "Today (tomorrow) is the first day of the rest of your life."

Psalm 118:24 "This is the day the Lord has made; let us REJOICE and be glad in it."

In recent months, I've realized every day is the first day of the rest of my life.  Each day is a new day with 24 hours to use as life determines and we choose.  Each day brings new life.  Each day brings new beginnings.  Each day, our Heavenly Father has given us new mercies and strength.  As I was recently reading from Rick Renner's "You Can Get Over It", 'You don't have to live today with the residual effect of what the devil did to you yesterday.  But it's time to move on and let the past be the past.'

All our todays and tomorrows are in God's hands.  We cannot change anything that happened yesterday or anything we did yesterday or anything someone else did yesterday.  We have today.  Today to grow and learn in the Lord.  Today to live to glorify Him.  Ya didn't like yesterday?  Today is new.  Like today!

Philippians 1:6 "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion."

I recognize it may seem easy to say “like” today.  But in actuality, we have to train our thoughts and our hearts and our spoken words to believe the new and not believe and declare the old.  It’s a process, which begins one step at a time.

When we feel life has so many changes occurring at once, we need to hold onto the constant, never changing Heavenly Father.  We learn further to depend upon Him and to follow His will for your life.  Not anyone else's will, but His will.  We listen to His direction.  Oh yes, you will have trials and you will have tests.  The enemy will try to tempt you.  Those things are stated in His Word and you know they will happen.  Be prepared.

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."

Psalm 138:8 "The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me."

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.  And when tomorrow arrives, it will be the first day of the rest of your life.  Make a choice to live it God's way.  Speaking from recent situations in my personal life, His way -- His timing -- always THE way.

Colossians 1:16-17 "All things were created through Him and for Him.  He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend, giving thanks to Him who does bring forth all blessings, giving glory to Him for the great things He has done, and will continue to do.

Prayerfully, your sister in Him,

Robin

  1. Amen, Sister!

I would add that the past can have strong tentacles that try to keep us bound to it. While we cannot change anything in our past, we can erase negative effects of it through deliverance, praise the Lord, since through sozo, Jesus has broken every bond for us. We have to receive that deliverance purposely and actively. I am so, so grateful to have received deliverance from many things in my past, so I can move forward in my future.

Lately, I've been extremely busy and really needed your reminder to slow down and consciously proclaim that every single day is a new beginning -- full of the life of Christ. And I needed your reminder to listen, listen, listen to the Lord for HIS direction and not my own ideas. Thanks, dear friend!

At this Thanksgiving time I am very thankful for YOU!

    Many, many, many blessings,
    Anne

  2. Anne,

Amen to your comments! The negative tapes from the past will sometimes play over and over in our minds. They can be strong on our minds and emotions and we are thankful for sozo -- all inclusive saving from the Lord Almighty! I believe in today's society most of us need to slow down and follow the daily direction of the Holy Spirit.

I am thankful for you, Anne, and wish you many, many Thanksgiving blessings!

    Robin
