My time with the Savior from "His Kindness Year Round"

I had the wonderful opportunity to spend some additional quiet time with the Lord this week. What an honor and privilege to commune with Him!

I shared with the Father things on my heart, ways I want to strengthen my relationship with Him. Of course, He already knows everything in my heart and everything in my life He wants me to surrender. But I needed to tell Him.

My daily goal is to be more Christ like.  I need to study Him and His Word, talk to Him, worship Him, serve Him, praise and glorify Him.

The Savior knows my desire to glorify and praise Him more. I'll feel weighed down with the negativity and drama of people and circumstances. The Father is not negative nor dramatic, and following those fleshly patterns is not Christ like.  I pray for the Holy Spirit's great guidance for praising and glorifying the Almighty.  I aim to count my many blessings more often!  Experiencing a trial or feeling a little down?  Sing "Jesus Loves Me!"  That will put a smile on your face and overflow the joy in your heart!

As I mentioned recently about spending quality time with the Lord, I need to take more unhurried opportunities talking to Him in prayer.  Have you ever fallen asleep while praying at night?  Jesus certainly knows what it's like to have people praying for Him, yet they continue to fall asleep.

This Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Resurrection Sunday, focus on the Redeemer rather than the busyness of the world. This is a very sacred and holy time in the life of a follower of Jesus.  Treasure your relationship!  Give Him praise and glory of His sacrifice for you!  Show Him you love Him and that you care about Him!  Live the obedient life and plans He has for you!

Luke 14:27 "And whoever does not carry their cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple."

Had it not been for an old rugged cross . . . . . and a man named Jesus.

Matthew 27:45 "From noon until three in the afternoon darkness came over all the land."

Holy, holy, holy!  Lord God Almighty!

Praising my Savior,

Robin

Holy Week thoughts from "His Kindness Year Round"

Holy Week.  With a follower of Jesus, isn't every week holy?

This is the celebrated week during Lent beginning with Palm Sunday extending through the Saturday before Resurrection Sunday.  A great deal occurred during this time, with Jesus' arrival in Jerusalem, the Last Supper in the upper room, betrayal by a disciple, Christ's arrest, crucifixion and resurrection.

"Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning, our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy!  Merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!"

The Resurrection season isn't about chocolate eggs or bunnies or new clothes.  It's about Christ, the Son of the Almighty. It's about His sacrifice for us.  And, His holy resurrection! He arose and lives today in our lives. Shout hallelujah!

"Living, He loved me, dying, He saved me
Buried, He carried my sins far away.
Rising, He justified freely forever
One day He's coming
Oh glorious day, oh glorious day!"

He is coming again to take us home!  Are you ready?

1 Peter 2:24 "He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds, you have been healed."

Glorifying Him today,

Robin

Stop, and take time, from "His Kindness Year Round"

Several times in the past week I’ve heard followers of Jesus discuss the same topic:  allowing other people or things or activities (including church activities and ministries) to take the place of our precious quiet time and union with the Lord.

We live in a fast paced world with a huge amount of responsibilities and activities to fulfill daily.   We have the ability to rearrange some items in our schedules and others, we do not.  Use a discerning heart and listen to the Holy Spirit in spending your time with Him.  Don’t ignore the valuable relationship you’ve developed with the Savior.  Nourish itStrengthen it.  Treasure it, above and beyond all people, things or activities.   Don’t look toward the world to satisfy an emptiness that only God can fill.

I have such incredible respect for Resurrection season!  He died for you and for me to spend eternity with Him.  He gave His body and blood for us.  What are we willing to give Him?

As we exclaim Hosanna! in honor of Palm Sunday this weekend, remember to truly praise and glorify the King every day.  Intentionally take time each day to praise!  If we have too much on our agenda to spend the time with the Father as we should, then it’s time to rearrange our schedule.  Don’t let earthly things hold back our relationship with Him.

He’s almost reached Jerusalem . . . .

Matthew 21:1-11  “As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her.  Untie them and bring them to me.  If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”  This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:  “Say to the Daughter Zion, See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”  The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.  They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on.  A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.  The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”  “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”  When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”  The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

Humbly, your sister in Him,

Oh, Happy Day! from "His Kindness Year Round"

I recently had the privilege to hear the Wilmington Celebration Choir. The group performed a variety of spectacular Christian music, and many songs truly touched my heart deeply.  I've been humming one particular old gospel song I heard, swaying with the music as I sing.

Oh Happy Day!

Oh happy day,
(Oh happy day)
Oh happy day,
(Oh happy day)
When Jesus washed,
(Oh when he washed)
When Jesus washed,
(When Jesus washed)
He washed my sins away!

Whether you remember the specific day in which Jesus wiped clean your slate of sin or not, it was indeed a very happy day!  It was the day you made the decision to spend eternity in His presence.  It was the day you chose to follow the Redeemer, rather than the enemy.  It was the day you made up your mind to seek the Light, rather than darkness.

Oh, happy day!

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Your sister in Him,

Robin
